Welcome to season two of All’Opera, a collaboration between Rai Com and Thunderbird Releasing that brings the best Italian productions to cinemas across
the UK.

After a successful collaboration on season one saw the likes of ‘Madame Butterfly’, ‘Manon Lescaut’ and Sofia Coppola’s rendition of Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’ drawing in audiences around the country, this new set of six productions offers audiences further experience of some of the most famous performances from Italy’s most historic and renowned venues.

The new season begins with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s production of George Bizet’s ‘Carmen’, which will be performed in the Terme di Caracalla in Roma, the archaeological site of the Roman Baths. The 4K production will be shown in October 2017.

There are also operas from the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, including Umberto Giordano’s ‘Andrea Chenier’, as well as ‘La Boheme’ from the Teatro Communale Di Bologna, ‘Don Pasquale’ and the ballet ‘Le Corsaire’ both from the Teatro alla Scala.

“We’ve had fantastic support from audiences and exhibitors for the first pilot season, culminating in Sofia Coppola’s mesmerizing “La Traviata,” and look forward to bringing more unique events to UK audiences from the home of opera,” said Edward Fletcher, managing director for Thunderbird Releasing.
